Yes, our standing in the world will improve dramatically. And yes, we have certainly made immeasurable progress to be able to elect a person of color to the most powerful position in the nation.
But I think where Obama truly succeeded was appealing to people on a deeply personal level. The notion of optimism and the possibility of hope are truly alive.
This is the first time I’ve given money and volunteered for an election in my life. I couldn’t be more proud to have done my small part.
Congratulations, President Obama. Congratulations, America.

Maybe those of whose who decried the day M-TV stopped showing actual music had it all wrong.
No, perhaps Viacom was just too far ahead of curve for us to see it coming. We had no idea in the early 1990s, when approximately 37 people had email that we used on a VAX system, that the interpages would replace TV as our primary source of entertainment.
Okay, nice thought. But really, they went for cheap entertainment. They’re a big company. This only makes sense for their bottom line.
